Privacy Policy

Just Platters operates a school lunch ordering portal. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it. By using the portal you are agreeing to these practices.

What we collect

• Parent account: your name, email, phone number, and the password hash used to sign in (the password itself is never stored in a readable form).
• Child information: first and last name, grade, classroom, age group, and any dietary notes you provide.
• Order history: the meals you order and their prices.

We do not collect or store credit card numbers. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your card details go directly to Stripe. We only receive the confirmation that a payment succeeded.

Why we collect it

• To identify you when you sign in and place orders.
• To link orders to the correct child and school.
• To apply the correct portion and price based on age group.
• To contact you about your orders when needed.

How long we keep it

We keep parent and child data only for the current school year. At the end of each school year, this data is removed from our systems. Order history is retained only as long as needed to support the school year it belongs to, and is deleted with that year's data.

Who we share it with

• The school (its administrators and kitchen staff) so they can prepare and deliver meals. They can see the names, classrooms, age groups, dietary notes, and orders for their school only.
• Stripe, solely to process your payment. Your card details are handled under Stripe's own security and privacy practices.

We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

How we protect it

Passwords are stored as salted, hashed values (never in plain text). All data travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to administrative screens is limited to the school's admin account.

Your choices

You can view and edit your children's information in the portal at any time. If you would like your data reviewed or removed sooner than the end-of-year purge, contact us and we will delete it, subject to any legal or tax record-keeping requirements.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, ask you to acknowledge them the next time you sign in.
